Glass Mountain has officially begun reading submissions for the Fall 2015 issue. Our associate genre editors are hard at work reading ten submissions a week. If you haven’t already, submit your fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art, or reviews to Glass Mountain by no later than October 15th. The deadline is fast approaching, so if you want to be considered for this semester’s magazine, send your work our way now. Remember, if you’re chosen, your work will be featured in a national award-winning magazine.
To submit, click here or on the Submit button above and follow the guidelines for your section. We look forward to seeing your work!
It’s a new semester at the University of Houston and with that comes a new issue of Glass Mountain Magazine! We have a lot going on this semester, so make sure you come back to this blog to keep up with our events and get involved.
First and foremost, we are currently accepting submissions! The submission deadline is October 15th, so if you’d like to see your work in Volume 15 of Glass Mountain, revise and finish your piece and get it in by midnight that day. Remember, we accept works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and art. We’ve also started accepting reviews. If you are interested in submitting to this new section, please note that we’d like to see reviews of work that has come out in the last five years. However, this is the only major guideline, which means that you can review anything, from books to films to art. To submit, click here and follow the guidelines for your category.
Through our submissions, we see a lot of great work from writers across the country. If you’d like to get a glimpse of that, join us at our first reading of the semester! The reading will feature undergraduates from the English department at UH – two prose writers and one poet – and will be followed by an open mic. We hope to see you September 23rd at the Student Center South, in the Legacy Lounge (also called the Red Room) at 7pm.
Finally, we are grateful for all the interest we’ve received from undergrads at UH in joining our staff and therefore are sorry to have to say that we can no longer accept any more applications this semester. If you are interested in joining our staff, we welcome your applications again in the spring. Thank you for your support.
There is certainly no shortage of ways to get involved with Glass Mountain. We hope you’ll find time to come to one or more of our events, and definitely check out the fruits of our labor in December with the launch of Volume 15.
